Our ambition is to facilitate the mission of our spiritual preceptors: to give love and affection of the highest standard to all living beings, without any consideration of race, social status, gender, etc. Following in their footsteps, we share ancient transcendental knowledge with society at large, in order to educate all people in the techniques of spiritual life and to check the imbalance of values in the world for achieving real peace.
The Meaning of Gauḍīya Vedānta
Veda is a sanskrit word meaning "knowledge" and anta is a Sanskrit word meaning "end". Vedānta refers to the body of literature that reveals the ultimate end of all knowledge, the teachings of the eternal Absolute Truth, which is Reality distinguished from illusion for the welfare of all. Such Truth uproots the miseries of life.
Gauḍīya Vedānta is the transcendental knowledge spread by the followers of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, whose image is seen on the cover of this website.
Caitanya Mahāprabhu is also known as Gaurāṇga, whose limbs bear the luster of gaura, molten-gold – hence, Gauḍīya. He came to this world 500 years ago to taste the sweet essence of the mellows of love of God and to propagate devotional service on the platform of spontaneous attraction.
Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is the combined form of the Absolute Energy, golden-limbed Śrī Rādhā and the Supreme Energetic source, cloud-complexioned Kṛṣṇa. Thus, Kṛṣṇa assumed a Supremely magnanimous golden form.
